DESCRIPTION:“There’s no such thing as a good decision. Just make a dec
ision and make it good.”\n—Charna Halpern\, co-creator of long-form im
prov (she literally said this to your host\, Kelly)\nWhat does improv have
to do with education and technology?\nA lot\, actually.\nImprov helps us
become better listeners\, more confident communicators\, more adaptable co
llaborators\, and more creative problem-solvers. It teaches us to make dec
isions without having every answer\, build on other people’s ideas\, rec
over when something doesn’t go as planned\, and create environments wher
e people feel safe enough to participate.\nThose skills matter in classroo
 ms\, startups\, creative teams—and nearly everywhere else.\nBut this isn
’t a lecture about improv. We’re going to do it!!! Jump in and try. Le
 arn skills in communication\, negotiation\, confidence\, and leadership.\n
No audience. No stage. Everybody plays—including you!\nThis is a real Ch
icago-style improv jam\, inspired by the kinds of jams held at iO\, the An
noyance\, and Playground Theater. We’ll warm up together\, break into gr
oups\, jump into scenes\, and perform.\nYou’ll learn by doing.\nNever do
 ne improv?\nGreat.\nBeen performing for years?\nEven better.\nEducators\,
 founders\, technologists\, facilitators\, performers\, and curious humans
are all welcome. The only requirement is showing up ready to jump in\, sup
port your scene partners\, and play.\nYou’re welcome to arrive as early
as 3:30 p.m. to cowork\, use the free Wi-Fi\, enjoy the amazing views\, me
et people\, or settle in before we begin. Please arrive before 6:00 p.m.\,
when the building doors close.\nAbout your host:\nKelly Kirk studied impr
ov acting at iO\, the Annoyance\, and Playground Theater in Chicago\, alon
